Advert Research, Ideas and Plan

For this week, I will research and develop my idea about an advertisement project. At first, I had a lot of ideas for my project such as teddy bear, coffee, or milk, but after that I chose Pho, which made by beef, noodles, and soup with a lot of flavors. It represent my country and is one of the most popular Vietnamese food. Through this project, I would like to promote and introduce my traditional food to everyone.

I found five Pho advertisements for my research and plan. They use dark and neutral background to pay attention for main object.

In the first one, they use dark background to helps the bowl of Pho stand out obviously. The lighting focuses on the steam and the fresh ingredients, making this dish look very real and tasty. I also like the tagline "It's PHO-nominal!!", which is creative, fun, and easy to remember. The font is bold and slightly curved, which matches the friendly and lively feeling of the image.

In the second one, this advertisment really catches my attention. I like the brown and yellow colors because they make the design feel cozy and comfortable to see. The photo of Pho bowl look tasty and makes people want to try. Moreover, the font is simple but modern, which makes the text easy to understand, read, and matches the clean layout. I also like the tagline "The Taste of Vietnam" because it's short but meaningful, they want to bring the real Vietnamese flavors to their clients.

For this advertisement, the big font for the word "PHO" immediately stands out and catches people's eyes. The colors are daker and warmer, which makes the bowl of Pho in the centre look more delicious and clear. The layout is quite simple, because they want to focus on the food, not too much text, so it's easy to understand. The tagline " Savor the Soul of Vietnam" sounds emontional and helps show that Pho is not food but a part of Vietnamese culture.

In the next advertisement, It looks so fun and creative. The design mixes food and travel ideas, with the plane and background showing Vietnamm as a destination. The bright color and bold text make it look lively and modern. The big word "PHO" helps people understand what advertisement is about. I think the layout is interesting because it connects Vietnamese food with tourism, which combines between traditional cuisine and travel elements.

In the last one, it captures the spirit of Vietnam through its creative mix of food and culture. The warm colors and lively design make bowl of Pho in the center stand out, while the background with places like Ben Thanh Market, street signs, and bicycle reminds me of daily life in Vietnam. I like how the advertisement mixes food and travel together, making it feel like an invitation to explore country. The clear text and bright colors make it look modern but still friendly and a sense of local.

From my research, I created three ideas for my advertisement.

In the first one, ingredients in the bowl are flying up to make the image look more fun and interesting. I used shrimp, shiitake and galangal are arranged to form the word 'PHO' in the middle of the picture. I want it to be engaging and eye-catching so it can attract people' attention. It is also easy for customers to remember when they see it.

In the second idea, I use a Pho bowl and put it in the corner. Pho is a traditional Vietnamese food so I design simply to help bowl look more outstanding. I also put some ingredients around to help people imagine clearly the ingredients of Pho.

In the final idea, I want to highlight the beef, which is one of the main ingredients in Pho. Therefor, i draw chopsticks lifting beef to make the scene look more lively and tasty. I hope this design can make people want to try Pho when they watch this advertisement.

I also prepare three taglines for my advertisement. The first one is "The Heritage of Vietnamese Flavor", which will bring the authentic and cultural of Vietnamese taste that passed down from generations. The second one is "Remind Valuable Memory". I want people to remember the time they live with their family when they eat Pho. It is not only about the taste, but also the feeling of love that connect people together. The last one is "The Soul of Viet Nam in Every Bowl". I really like this one because it carries the spirit, culture and lifestyle of Vietnamese people.

  1. Add some comments on the adverts you chose - why did you choose them? What was it about these specific examples? Use of font? Use of photography? Taglines? Layouts? Make this clear please!

Otherwise, this is a good post - the outlines of your sketch ideas in your commentary works well and shows us how you are thinking about this task - well done, keep it up!
