Artist Research
In the second research, I would like to research about Marcel Breuer, who was a Hungarian-American modernist architect and interior design. He was a student and worked as a master carpenter at the Bauhaus in the 1920s. In the latter part of his career, Breuer turned to architecture, working in the United States from the 1940s, designing many famous buildings such as theaters, shops, and libraries. He received major awards and left a lasting legacy in both interior design and architecture. Breuer died in 1981, but works such as the Wassily chair and the Cesca are still widely produced and displayed in major museums.
His Bauhaus work had a profound influence on the world of design. He designed in all areas, from kitchenware to buildings and furniture. His furniture, in particular, was often very simple, and he frequently retained geometric forms. Breuer's most famous architectural work is the Whitney Museum of Art in New York, completed in 1966. For my project, I plan to place this chair in both the living room and the working room. In the living room, it could be placed within the sofa set to add a Bauhaus feel to the room. In the working room, it will serve as both a chair and a decorative piece. Additionally, I will combine the room's colors to match the color of the chairs. For example, if the chairs are red, I will mix them with blue walls and a yellow sofa. At the same time, I will choose furniture with clear geometric shapes, such as triangles or circles, to balance the shapes in the space and give it a deep Bauhaus feel.
