Portfolio Design Research and Development
This week, I have researched portfolios from other designers, and I was really impressed with Elisa Failla's portfolio. In her portfolio, she used a white background to present her work. It looks simple and makes modern feeling. I was also impressed by her moodboard. She didn't focus on detail to effectively display the objects and materials that she used in her projects.
After watching her portfolio, I realized that a simple and clean layout can make a project look more professional and help people easier to understand. I would like to make my portfolio like her portfolio. Instead of adding too many decorative images or graphics, I want my portfolio to look simple and I will focus more on the main elements of the project.
Moreover, I was impressed with how she created the moodboard for materials. She arranged the materials, colors, and textures very clearly and organizedly, and it showed what she did in her project. From this, I also want to showcase the materials and color palette for my Curve Theater redesign in a simple way. Because I want to highlight the main colours like red and gray, combined with a minimalist style, and materials that I will use.
To suit with my project, I changed the background to an image of Curve Theatre. I quite like this introduction board because it's simple yet modern.
Next, I worked on the portfolio concept. I searched online for images to represent the Minimalism style. I wanted to find images with red objects to demonstrate that minimalism can also utilize a lot of color. Additionally, that's the main color of my project. Then I added my definition of Minimalism style and the reasons why I chose it for my work.
I also worked on the Target Market board. I summarized my research on customer groups. I added a real photo of Curve Theatre, which they took to show the number of customers who visit Curve Theatre.

You took shots of the public spaces at the Curve at the beginning of term - perhaps you could use some of these instead of stock images?
