To create the floor plan, I searched for some layouts of the Curve Theatre to determine the exact areas I needed to redesign, as well as the pathways within the space. This greatly helped me in developing the floor plan concept and understanding how to arrange things so that people could move around easily without obstruction, while it still provides all the necessary functional areas to serve guests.
As shown in the image above, I will need to redesign the interior at point 11, which is the Green Room Cafe, point 12, which is the Stage Door Bar, and the Mezzanine. Although I couldn't find the layout of the Mezzanine, I can determine its location because I visited the site and took photos for documentation and research, it mightbe extends from point 12 (starting from Door to Rutland St) to point 11. These are three areas I will need to redesign the interior.

First, I will create a bubble diagram to identify the locations where I want to place the furniture. I have looked up several bubble diagrams online, and they have been very helpful in creating my own. For example, in the image above, the areas are arranged by color and labeled. Additionally, arrows are used to show traffic flow. According to the Bubble Diagram Activity document, the main purpose of a bubble diagram is to help transform a design program into a visual, quick, and easily adjustable spatial layout strategy in the early stages of design. (Dallas ADEX, Bubble Diagram Activity, 2020). Therefore, I will create bubble diagrams first to visualize the traffic flow in space.
In my opinion, area 11 is right next to the entrance, and it also has a long stretch of glass windows near the bar. Therefore, I want to add many low benches and place them close to the glass windows so that people can enjoy their drinks while still being able to look outside. Additionally, this would attract attention from the outside because the low benches would allow people to easily see the activities inside the building instead of being obscured by high tables and chairs. Next, I want to arrange the high tables inside to meet the working needs of the staff. I intend to position the high tables diagonally to create a novel feel, and when people look at it, the diagonal arrangement will be more eye-catching. However, if positioned diagonally, it will take up quite a bit of space for walkways and it will also obstruct the view of the coffee counter from the outside. Another my idea is to arrange the high tables in a straight line, so it's easy to move around and does not obstruct the view from the outside.
Next is the Stage Door Bar area. This area is quite dark because it's located in the far corner of the building, and it also has many red walls from the functional rooms. Therefore, I want to use tiered seating to expand the movement area and increase seating capacity instead of just regular tables and chairs. Additionally, I will retain the small stage of the bar. Initially, that stage faced the Door on Rutland Street, but I will move it to the wall in the reception area. The area opposite the Door will have tiered seating. The bar counter will remain in its current location, and I will add some round tables and chairs near the entrance to open seating area.
Finally, there is the Mezzanine area. It's quite long but rather narrow. So I will place the seating in the middle of the aisle, which will create two separate walkways on the Mezzanine level. I have two ideas for vending machines in this area. First, I could place the vending machine on the right side, right next to another room. This area is quite large, so I could add a decorative area, for example, with pictures of the theater's works or actors, or souvenirs and medals. The second idea is to move the vending machine to the far left. This way, the area on the right could be used for seating for visitors and staff. However, the entrance is quite close to the right side, so when people want to buy something from the vending machine, they will have to walk a long distance to the far left end of the Mezzanine.
Next, I sketched the floorplan by hand. I used a light board to redraw the layout of the Curve Theatre.

The bubble plans and floor plans are working well, the latter is what you should develop and begin finalising in Week 7.
