Final Concept Sketches

During the last week, I completed my concept sketches. These are concept sketches that I redrew and  used watercolors and line pens to complete. It took me a week to finish them. I had to apply many layers of watercolor because if I only used watercolor once, it would be too light and wouldn't create depth or show the red tones of the interior.

First was the concept for the Green Room Cafe. I followed the color palette that I had researched for my ideas and pratical researches of colors. Initially, I was going to use light colors for the floor and furniture. However, after experimenting with gray, I decided to use gray because it could highlight the red of the walls and table. Then I used a line pen to redraw the bolder lines.

Next is the concept for the Mezzanine. For me, it was quite difficult to draw the two perspectives correctly because it's an arc shape, so I was quite confused when determining the two perspectives. Regarding to color, I still chose red for the walls and furniture and gray for the floor. Additionally, I painted the partitions gray, then I used red to layer over the gray. I wanted it to have harmony and a consistent color tone to create depth and color cohesion in the space. Besides that, it still maintains the simplicity but also the modern feel of the Minimalism style.

Finally, there's the Stage Door Bar area. I still used red and gray for the painting. Additionally, I used a line pen to show the wood grain of the ceiling and the wooden slats at the bar. I had to use many layers to create colors because I wanted to create the similar color with reality. Initially, I intended to choose a dark gray floor, but if I used a dark gray floor, it wouldn't highlight the bar because they would be the same color. So, I mixed red, yellow, black, and dark green to create the floor color. This makes the bar look more outstanding and modern.

Overall, I'm quite satisfied with my three concept sketches about the color and the color usage. However, I haven't showcase the whole materials, and I haven't draw the exact two perspectives technique. So, if I had more time, I would try to clearly show the materials and add more detail to the angles in the space, such as the food or the drink on the tables.
